What Drives Me

I’m SockmonkeyCrew, a multidisciplinary artist driven by a love of music, creativity, and the joy of making. My work is rooted in curiosity—about how people think, feel, and connect—and I draw heavily from psychology and storytelling in my creative process. I’m always learning, creating first and refining through repetition, allowing each project to grow stronger, faster, and more intentional over time.

My theatre design work is driven by a love of collaboration and immersive storytelling. I approach design as a psychological and emotional tool—using visuals, light, and space to support narrative and performance. I create with curiosity, refine through practice, and aim to keep a sense of wonder at the center of every project.

Background

Performance

I have minimal performance experience, primarily within educational settings. My onstage work has supported my broader understanding of storytelling, collaboration, and the rehearsal process.

Behind the Scenes

My passion lies behind the scenes. I worked on stage crew throughout high school and served as stage manager for my final two years. I hold a degree in Performing Arts with a focus in Theatrical Design and Technology. While at Iowa State University, I worked as deck crew on two productions. My training includes script analysis, lighting design, stage management, stage makeup, costume construction, puppetry, and directing.
